Syed Shabih Abbas, Global Director of Cloud Managed Services at DXC Technology, has joined the Cloud & 5G LIVE line up as the bumper two-day event draws near.
A seasoned technology executive with more than 20 years of industry experience, Abbas will host a fireside on day one of the virtual conference titled Cloud Conversations: Navigating the Future of Computing at 11am BST on 11 October via Brella.
More industry leaders are set to join the Cloud & 5G LIVE line up - forming panels and leading keynote and fireside chats - in the run up to next month’s event.

Who is Syed Shabih Abbas, Global Director of Cloud Managed Services at DXC Technology?
An advocate for the power of digital transformation in being a driver for powerful and effective change in organisations, Abbas drives this transformation for customers worldwide with his global teams.
Abbas’ extensive experience spans roles delivering and driving the secure cloud-based digital platform and transformation for mobility, R&D and engineering units, with expertise in developing technology strategy roadmaps and integration of technology with businesses.
A self-described high-energy leader, Abas prides himself in offering diverse experience and success in driving IT operational growth with international exposure, leading start-up and turnaround efforts, and maximising business opportunities.
He joined DXC Technology in 2022 as Global Director following a stint as Deputy General Manager at German luxury and commercial vehicle automotive brand Mercedes-Benz, leading its technology transformation among other responsibilities.
Prior to this he held a variety of roles at IT specialists and consulting giant Accenture, latterly as Vice President - IT Infrastructure and Cloud Operations - Delivery Unit Head, developing and growing customer accounts and relationships.
IBM and HCL Technologies are among the other companies he has worked for throughout his varied career.

Cloud & 5G LIVE started as a stage at Tech LIVE 2022, live from Tobacco Dock in London. But this year’s instalment marks the first fully-virtual incarnation of the event.
Five themes will guide attendees through this year’s bumper two-day event: The Future of Cloud Computing, The Future of 5G, Women in Cloud & 5G, Cloud & Infrastructure, 5G Network Transformation.
Day one will cover the vast and ever-evolving subject of 5G, followed by cloud and sustainability across day two.
