Exclusive video: The 5G Leaders Forum at Cloud & 5G LIVE
Discussing how much of a disruptive technology 5G can be, Ravi Kumar Palepu, SVP and Head of Network Services & 5G at Prodapt and Jason Carolan, Chief Innovation Officer at Flexential joined Cloud & 5G LIVE host Neil Perry to share their expertise with the virtual audience.
Highlighting the key theme of the day, translating the technical language around technology into information that can result in actionable change, the duo lent in on focusing on both individual and collective achievement aims, awareness of unique personal circumstances both of clients and the companies themselves, and working to implement 5G technology that works effectively and is secure.

Combining their combined extensive experience in the telecom space, the duo opened by discussing the key benefits of 5G technology for organisations. “Speed, low latency, and reliability are crucial factors,” he said, discussing the rapid project and service launches enabled by 5G's speed, the importance of low latency in digital transformation, and the reliability of 5G networks with no call dropouts.
Carolan echoed Palepu’s sentiment, stating: “Efficiency can be gained by companies through faster and more streamlined work processes.” Adding that 5G is a significant force in providing platforms for AI applications, he realised that organisations need to prepare for 5G’s benefits while “addressing issues such as climate change and patient outcomes.”
Continuing to highlight the “importance of partnerships and a robust network architecture in a 5G environment,” Carolan added that leaders in the 5G space need to help organisations prepare for the technology. Palepu agreed, emphasising how leaders need to share a clear vision, along with understanding of use cases, readiness across the customer product and network lifecycle, investment strategy, employee training, and collaboration with the right partners. “Leaders must have a clear strategy and vision,” he declared.
Carolan added: “Leaders must drive change and ensure everyone is aligned with the vision and strategy.” With the executives underscoring how integral effective investment strategy, employee training and collaboration is when it comes to harnessing the full potential of 5G’s power, the role of leaders as this shift continues is equally essential to ensure success in the 5G landscape.
