Amdocs expands network innovation with AWS & VodafoneZiggo

Mobile Magazine examines Amdocs’ latest expansions of existing partnerships with VodafoneZiggo and AWS as it works to enhance network innovations

Amdocs is a company that specialises in software and services for communications, media and financial services providers and digital enterprises. It has continued to work to expand upon its services, as evidenced by its partnerships with VodafoneZiggo and AWS.

Headquartered in the United States, the service provider has a global presence and is now working on expanding its existing partnerships within the mobile and telecommunications sectors to enhance network and digital transformations.

In November 2023, the company recorded a fiscal revenue of US$4.89bn, which is up 6.8% YoY and has an expectation of a 2024 revenue growth of 1-5% YoY.

Enhancing customer experiences with VodafoneZiggo

The company has released several updated partnership agreements with large communications providers such as VodafoneZiggo. In November 2023, both businesses agreed to extend their multi-year managed services agreement in order to continue elevating operational excellence.

It is the hope of Amdocs that this collaboration will work to strengthen cooperation and commitment to deliver an improved customer experience.

VodafoneZiggo is one of the Netherlands’ leading communications service providers. Under the agreement, Amdocs will take responsibility for VodafoneZiggo's business systems operations, which provide VodafoneZiggo’s fixed-line and mobile customers with an improved experience and a more unified user journey across all lines of business.

Delivering equally unique and engaging digital customer experiences is important to both companies. As good customer service is important to most businesses within digital sectors, ensuring that speed and efficiency is achieved is paramount to success.

“Our renewed partnership with Amdocs is a strategic move towards transforming our operational landscape and implementing an agile application development approach,” said Candice Dillon, CIO at VodafoneZiggo. “Together, we are focused on enhancing customer experiences, streamlining our operations, and expediting our time-to-market. We are committed to delivering unmatched value to our customers.”

Unlocking new mobile innovations with AWS

The service provider also announced a new collaboration with Integrated Private Wireless on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This new agreement positions Amdocs as a key player in the Integrated Private Wireless on AWS program and aims to pave the way for ground-breaking advancements in private network innovation.

AWS customers should now be able to seamlessly access end-to-end Amdocs Mobile Private Network (MPN) services via the AWS Marketplace. The integration seeks to empower the entire AWS sales force with the expertise of Amdocs MPN and facilitate a comprehensive offering when it comes to proposing integrated private wireless solutions.

Ultimately, the Amdocs MPN solution will offer end-to-end accountability across all building blocks of a mobile private network. This includes the RAN, core, security and applications, combined with services for deployment and operations. It is also designed to provide businesses with managed and validated private wireless offerings from leading communications service providers (CSPs).

“Enterprise customers are increasingly leveraging mobile private networks to better serve a wide array of deployments, from manufacturing to healthcare,” said Anthony Goonetilleke, Group President of Technology and Head of Strategy at Amdocs. “By bringing together Amdocs MPN capabilities with Integrated Private Wireless solutions on AWS, service providers are now able to simplify and accelerate adoption and deployment of the full breadth of enterprise use cases.”

The company is also working with new technologies, including AI, highlighting a continued commitment to digital transformation. As part of the announcements, Amdocs announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to optimise large language models (LLMs) and speed up the adoption of generative AI applications and services across the US$1.7tn telecommunications and media industries.
