Who is EDB’s new CEO and former Microsoft exec Kevin Dallas?

Kevin Dallas joins EDB after almost a quarter of a century in executive roles at Microsoft, replacing outgoing CEO & Chairman of the Board Ed Boyajian

Seasoned Microsoft veteran Kevin Dallas has been named as the new CEO of EnterpriseDB (EDB), replacing President, CEO & Chairman of the Board Ed Boyajian.

Boyajian will remain on the company’s Board of Directors

Sharing his new position on LinkedIn, Dallas said: “I look forward to working with our talented team to enable our customers to realise a new data and AI driven intelligent systems economy. EDB has a bright future, and I couldn’t be happier to join this team at this inflection point.”

In his 15 years at the helm of EDB, Boyajian has led the company to become the largest contributor to PostgreSQL code and the leading provider of enterprise-grade products and solutions, serving more than 1,500 customers worldwide.

"It is an honour and a privilege to step in and lead the company's next phase focused on the intersection of data and AI,” Dallas added.

Following his departure from the CEO role, Boyajian praised EDB and his predecessor: "After 15 years of leading EDB, and 54 quarters of consecutive growth, I’m incredibly proud of this company, our employees, the innovation we’ve driven, and our impact on customer success.

“We’ve built EDB into a great company, and my decision to step forward and focus on board work ushers in a new phase in the company’s evolution. Kevin is a phenomenal leader, and we are confident that we’ve made the right choice to guide EDB towards an extraordinary future ahead.”
