Qualcomm & Aramco team up for Mobile Connectivity & IoT
Qualcomm Technologies and Aramco have teamed up to advance connectivity, AI and advanced computing technologies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This partnership will oversee the development of industrial 4G/5G and a non-terrestrial network ecosystem of 450MHz cellular technology, as well as the design of hardware and software for the deployment of end-to-end IoT solutions.

Digital transformation with industrial IoT applications and AI
State-owned petroleum and natural gas company Aramco is headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The company is building a safer future for the energy sector with improved efficiency and less emissions.
Qualcomm was founded in 1985 and is based in San Diego. The intelligent computing company wants to help the planet solve the most important challenges and is engineering human progress.
Through its collaboration with Aramco, Qualcomm Technologies aims to develop advanced end-to-end IoT solutions to solve problems in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and make way for a sustainable digital transformation in the industrial space.

Aramco is keen to advance its collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies to increase digital transformation on a global scale. In this partnership, they aim to set benchmarks in industrial IoT applications and AI, enhancing operational efficiencies and fostering sustainable growth across various industries worldwide.
“Through initiatives like the Saudi Accelerated Innovation Lab (SAIL), we are committed to developing innovative, cutting-edge solutions that establish new standards for industrial innovation worldwide, thereby driving technological advancement," said Nabil A. Al-Nuaim, Senior Vice President, digital and information technology at Aramco.
In utilising the power of cellular technology, high performance computing and AI, Aramco and Qualcomm Technologies hope to support industrial IoT solutions across Saudi Arabia.
“This includes the use of the 450MHz spectrum to provide ubiquitous and resilient coverage that will be necessary to connect the millions of intelligent edge devices poised to come online,” said Durga Malladi, Senior Vice President and General Manager, technology planning and edge solutions, Qualcomm Technologies.

Qualcomm's Senior Vice President Susie Armstrong is a leading figure in the business and over her almost three decades at the company has played a pivotal role in the development of mobile internet technology among other significant achievements. Susie has held a variety of leadership roles during her time at Qualcomm, leading teams including the mobile chipset division and software engineering business unit.
