The need for AI in the orchestration of 5G networks

By TelecomTV

Featuring: Dr Junlan Feng, Chief Scientist, China Mobile.

The way CSPs manage their networks has to be flexible enough to match the kind of service that 5G promises to deliver, which means orchestration is no longer an option but a necessity. So far, the use of AI in networks has been limited and implemented in specific areas. China Mobile hopes that in the future, AI can be more systematic throughout the network, helping to drive down the costs of network transformation. Orchestration is a means to deploy AI in this network-wide manner. However, it’s going to require a community-wide effort to deliver on the promise.
