Mobile Ecosystem Forum: 5 new Senior Experts join the team

Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF) has shared that five new senior experts have joined the team, where they will enhance global mobile ecosystem collaboration

Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF) has announced that five new senior experts have been recruited to join the team, each leading a specialist area within the organisation.

These Programme Directors will foster connections and collaboration between members and be responsible for a different role within the mobile ecosystem. 

The MEF is a global trade body, founded in 2000 and based in the UK with members across the world. As the voice of the mobile ecosystem, it provides its members with global and cross-sector platforms for networking, collaboration and advancing industry solutions. The MEF also focuses on cross-industry best practices, anti-fraud and monetisation. 

The five new Programme Directors join MEF’s existing team of Programme Directors:

  • Suzy Menneret - an expert on the current wholesale market the future trends that will impact it
  • Michael Becker - an expert on Personal Identity and Data
  • Gavin Patterson - Director of MEF research and data covering 218 countries and 700 mobile operators
  • Nassia Skoulikariti- an expert on Internet of Things [IOT]
  • Nick Rossman - Anti Fraud and Consumer Trust.

The five new Programme Directors are:

Nick Millward

Royal Leamington Spa, England

Nick has experience leading a Global & European CPaaS business in Product and Sales and is an expert on how AI can be applied across Telco and Marketing/Sales. 

Mobile magazine spoke with Nick in May to discuss how AI could change the future of the telecoms sector. 

“The application of AI with mobile technologies requires careful considerations to understand if this is the right fit. Limited resources and skilled talent present obstacles to widespread AI adoption and innovation. Comprehensive learning is essential to equip individuals with the necessary skills,” he said.

MEF: Claire Maslen

Claire Maslen

Dubai, UAE

MEF’s Programme Director for Commerce and Payments Claire Maslen has gained a range of experiences in blue-chip and scale up organisations, where she has focussed on Product, Professional Services & Consulting environments. It has been into these areas where she has drawn on her passion for social mobility and inclusion. Now based in the UAE, she is an expert on the mobile payments, wallets, fintech and the UAE mobile market.

MEF: Doug Makishima

Doug Makishima

Dublin, California, US

Doug has held senior management positions at Nortel, AMD, Adaptec, GSMA and several startups. In these roles he gained experience in mobile communications, AI, cloud edge computing, VR/AR/Metaverse and blockchain. 

As MEF’s Programme Director for Mobile Evolution: NaaS APIs, Edge Computing (MEC) and open standards, Doug has a focus on the adoption of new services and platforms in the mobile ecosystem, such as Telco Edge services, NaaS APIs and new communication standards (such as vCon).

MEF: Matt Ekram

Matt Ekram

Washington, District of Columbia, US

Matt Ekram is MEF’s Programme Director for Asia. He has over 30 years experience in mobile and telecommunications including global product management, business development, carrier relations and sales management for leading organisations including Ericsson, Symantec, VeriSign, Syniverse, iBasis, Kaleyra and Infinite Convergence Solutions. 

This has given Matt strong expertise in mobile messaging, CPaaS and telecommunications.

MEF's Anzelle Robertson

Anzelle Robertson

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Anzelle is MEF’s Programme Director for Direct Carrier Billing, mobile content and digital advertising and mobile money. 

While based in Amsterdam, she is an Attorney of the High Court of the Republic of South Africa and has served on the Board of the South African regulatory body for VAS and Mobile Payments, WASPA. Anzelle is also an expert in Direct Carrier Billing, mobile content, advertising and money, and the telecoms landscape in South Africa.
