Telecommunications provider Heights Telecom has partnered with Guyana's ENet to deliver Fibre Home Gateways & provide super-fast internet to customers

Heights Telecom has shared news of its strategic partnership with ENet, Guyana's only locally owned telecommunications provider. Heights Telecom and ENet have rolled out the new internet service which delivers ultra-fast internet and advanced Wi-Fi connectivity to ENet’s customers.

Heights Telecom is a leading provider of telecommunications solutions for Communication Service Providers (CSPs), which specialises in developing innovative gateways and Wi-Fi Mesh extenders with a containerised software platform.

Heights Telecom and ENet boost digital ecosystems

Throughout this partnership, Heights Telecom will deliver advanced 2.5GPON Fibre Home Gateways to ENet, which will provide super-fast internet to customers. In addition, Heights Telecom’s long-range Wi-Fi Extenders will be deployed to ensure the most efficient throughput and coverage for every household.

Furthermore, the integration of Plume OpenSync across both the Home Gateways and Wi-Fi extenders will:
  • Offer ENet customers the advantage of top-tier Wi-Fi management tools
  • Cybersecurity controls
  • Parental Control
  • Band Steering
  • Wi-Fi Sensing.

Due to a rising urban population and the adoption of smartphone services, the telecom market in Guyana has seen steady growth. This is expected to only increase through 2025. With internet availability in Guyana still below regional averages. This collaboration between Heights Telecom and ENet has the opportunity to be a huge boost for the telecoms market in Guyana, supporting a more vibrant digital ecosystem for homes and businesses across Guyana.

Leo-Geert Van Den Berg, VodafoneZiggo’s Director of Fixed Technology, met with Mobile magazine to discuss the recent partnership with Plume, which began when the pandemic started, at a time when having fast, safe and flawless WiFi at home became even more important for consumers.

“With Plume, we are able to get a lot of monitoring data, a lot of data about KPIs, and how customers are using their networks and devices,” he said. “So, in case of troubleshooting or something going wrong in the house, we are able – with our technicians and call agents – to see what's going on, troubleshoot and then solve the issues with the customers a lot faster.

“For us to make it work in the background for the customer, and to have it seamlessly working and running with the right network automation, with the right artificial intelligence, with the right data – that's what adaptive WiFi does for us. And that's what Plume brings for us. It gets services to work and makes the infrastructure invisible for the customer.”

Telecommunications expansion across Latin America

Heights Telecom is continuing to grow in all markets across the globe, focusing on Europe, the Americas, the Caribbean and Latin America, so for Christian Gabetta, Managing Director of Heights Telecom, partnering with local service providers seemed a natural next step.

“ENet sought to deploy a 2.5G HomeGateway which surpasses the 1G HomeGateways currently being used in Europe, as well as advanced WiFi management features, including parental control, cybersecurity, mobile applications, and WiFi sensing, aimed at providing the ‘full package’ when it comes to internet experiences,” he said. “Heights Telecom’s containerised software architecture enables these services, while offering high-quality products at highly competitive prices. We’re looking forward to seeing how through this partnership, we can drive Guyana’s digital future and capabilities.”

“At ENet, we continually embrace innovation to meet the evolving needs of our customers,” shared Vishok Persaud, CEO of ENet. “We want to deliver the fastest internet connectivity, coupled with the most advanced Wi-Fi management platforms. In partnering with industry leaders, such as Heights Telecom, we hope to redefine not only the local market, but also what’s possible for the future of connectivity.”
