Broadcom & Telia: Transforming Telco Cloud Infrastructure
A new extended agreement between Broadcom Inc. and Telia Company will see Telia further modernise and transform its telco and cloud infrastructure with the VMware product portfolio.
The new agreement has been lengthened by multiple years and will see Telia, an existing VMware cloud service provider partner, deliver new and robust secure services. The telco is broadly adopting the VMware Cloud Foundation as its internal private cloud platform to accelerate innovation, streamline resource management and increase operational efficiency for Telia’s internal IT organisation.
“As a longtime VMware partner and customer, and now Broadcom partner and customer, we are pleased to continue to collaborate on our digital transformation journey at Telia,” comments Hein Müskens, Deputy COO and Group CIO at Telia Company.
“As we look to the future, it’s vital that we continue to adopt modern infrastructure. Broadcom is a critical partner in making this a reality.”
Delivering enhanced cloud services
As a Nordic and Baltic telecommunications leader, Telia is continuing to improve its network and IT cloud journey with both VMware Telco Cloud Platform and VMware Cloud Foundation as the basis of its modern cloud platform.
Likewise, Telia is working to expand its deployment of VMware Telco Cloud Platform and its cloud-native architecture to continue progressing its automation agenda across all network workloads. This is in addition to its cloud-native expansion of critical assets.
Telia was recently named a Broadcom Pinnacle Partner, which is the highest designation in the VMware Cloud Service Provider Program. With such an achievement, Telia is empowered to help customers solve their most complex challenges, thereby making the most of their technology investments to grow their businesses.
Serving its customers
Both Broadcom and Telia have been partnered for a number of years, long before Broadcom acquired cloud services firm VMware in 2023.
As part of its services, Broadcom’s solutions include service provider and enterprise networking and storage, mobile device and broadband connectivity, mainframe, cybersecurity and private and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Significantly, its VMware by Broadcom offering is designed to help guide customers through what they describe as a software-driven revolution. It offers tools to help customers leverage scalable networks to lower costs, accelerate deployments and harness AI-driven insights for more efficient operation.
Such insights are particularly important for telcos, especially during a time where the sector is undergoing rapid digital transformation.
Through this enhanced collaboration, Telia is empowered to help customers solve their most complex digital challenges. Particularly across the telco sector, this includes business customers being able to make the most of their technology investments to grow their operations and maintain a competitive advantage.
Krish Prasad adds: “We are delighted to enable Telia to continue serving its customers with this VMware software-based platform that includes the needed network and infrastructure orchestration, automation and scale.”
