Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are here
Apple has introduced the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max, right on Apple’s September schedule. September signals the back-to-school shopping season and a quieter period for the tech sector, which lets Apple’s release dominate the news and social media trends.
The new smartphones offer higher Apple Intelligence, bigger display sizes, exciting new camera features for the digital age, powered by the A18 Pro chip. Pre-orders begin 13th September, with availability beginning 20th September.
So, what do the new phones offer users?
Apple iPhone 16 offers intelligence, titanium and battery life
Apple Intelligence is a powerful Apple-built generative model which understands personal context and provides intelligence that is helpful and relevant, while still protecting user privacy.
Camera Control offers a faster way to interact with the advanced camera system. Featuring a new 48MP Fusion camera with a faster quad-pixel sensor that enables 4K120 fps video recording in Dolby Vision.
The titanium combines a lightweight design with strength, with bigger display sizes and the thinnest borders on any Apple product, as well as the best battery life on iPhone - ever.
Game Mode in iOS 18 offers consistent frame rates while making AirPods, game controllers and other wireless accessories responsive. A new 6-core CPU is the fastest in a smartphone, with two performance cores and four efficiency cores that can run the same workload as the previous generation 15% faster while using 20% less power.
Apple and the environment
Apple wants to be carbon neutral across its entire carbon footprint by 2030 and is prioritising renewable electricity in its manufacturing. The company is also investing in wind and solar projects. All of Apple’s facilities run on 100% renewable electricity — including the data centres which power Apple Intelligence.
Apple is also designing products with recycled and renewable materials.
- Over 25% recycled content overall
- 100% recycled aluminium in the internal structural frame
- 80% or more recycled steel across multiple components
- 100% recycled cobalt in the battery
- 95% recycled lithium - a first for iPhone
In addition to this, the packaging is fibre-based, bringing Apple closer to its goal of removing plastic from its packaging, a goal for 2025.
The role of Apple in shaping future mobile services
Run on the efficient A18 Pro chip and built for Apple Intelligence, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are the most advanced iPhone models ever made, shared Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing.
He said that customers who want the latest technology to share their life online, the iPhone will do the job.
“Customers who are looking for the best possible iPhone will be able to take advantage of this huge step forward, whether they’re applying edits to a photo without lifting a finger, rewriting meeting notes for a more professional tone, or using the advanced camera system to capture their next masterpiece in 4K120 fps in Dolby Vision — all while enjoying extraordinary battery life,” Greg added.
However, not all customers are convinced of the iPhone 16. But no one can deny, no one does it like Apple.
“Honestly, Apple's innovation is the reason it does so well,” said Revolut’s Pranay Loya. “I don't know any other company that can sell one billion new phones by continuously changing the colour and position of their camera!”
