Alexis Koalla, Director of Operations Strategy and Transformation at Orange
With a strong software development background, Alexis Koalla is the Director of Operations Strategy and Transformation at Orange.
Having spent more than 20 years in software development, Alexis – in the last decade – has driven several digital transformations across Orange Affiliates and Business Units.
Alexis – alongside his team at Orange Group – is responsible for designing and implementing the ‘Operating Model’ for greater efficiency and process excellence for both IT and network domains.
Mobile Magazine caught up with Alexis to discover what inspired him to join the event, what he hopes to achieve and his predictions for the future of Cloud and 5G.
What inspired you to get involved in Cloud & 5G LIVE?
I am always open to learning and sharing. Cloud & 5G LIVE gives me and enables this opportunity. Cloud and 5G are hot topics in Orange and the transformation of operations is key to embracing and addressing them correctly.
Provide an overview of what your panel will focus on.
My Panel discussion will focus on Cloud Strategy in a 5G Era. I am eager to share how the cloud leverages the 5G rollout and what capabilities the cloud provides to accelerate the automation journey of 5G deployment. Furthermore, I would like to talk with my fellow panellists about the operational model with Cloud Service Providers and more generally the Hyperscalers.
What do you hope to achieve through the event?
I would like to hear and learn from others about what they are doing with Hyperscalers and the difficulties they are facing or experimenting with. As well as the solutions they are testing.
What emerging trends do you believe will shape the future of the cloud and 5G industry over the next decade?
From what I see, I think that AI will shape the future of the cloud and 5G industry. Because AI will enable faster learning from the data generated by the 5G infrastructure and stored, processed and computed by the cloud infrastructure.
I see also containerisation as a technology breakthrough which will shape the 5G deployment in cloud infrastructure.
